Directional Driller
Reports to: Underground Supervisor
Job Status: Full Time
Location: Toronto and Surrounding Areas

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will execute work assigned, coach and supervise junior technicians and labourers
- Will perform work including box locating and directional drilling, installation of conduits for various cables, installation of pedestals and concrete bases, flushmount vaults and enclosures
- Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to operate heavy equipment (Mini Backhoe, Trencher, Winch, Compressors, Directional Drills etc.) and power tools (Power Drills, Concrete Saws)
- May need to use technical and diagnostic tools (cable locator, signal meter, TDR)
- Must be responsible to maintain a fit condition to bend, kneel and climb during the installation process
- Must be able to safely lift loads of 65 lbs
- Must have the flexibility to work in restricted and tight spaces
- Must be able to manage efficiently and ensure that deadlines are met to satisfy customer needs
- Must be able to apply due diligence ensuring accuracy in preparing and promptly completing all necessary documentation for projects and timesheets
- Must be well organized and be able to work well individually and as part of a team

Fibre Optic Splicer
Reports to: Fibre Optic Division Manager
Job Status: Full Time
Location: Toronto and Surrounding Areas
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in fiber optic splicing and testing in an Inside and Outside Plant Environment required. Knowledge and ability to work while making safety the number one priority is a must!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Splice and test various types of fibre optic cable
- Troubleshoots system problems for various customers
- Can read system maps
- Can operate all types of splicing and testing equipment
- Will document all required information as the work happens
- Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to carry and climb a twenty eight foot extension ladder weighing 80 pounds
- Must be well organized and be able to work well individually and as part of a team

Hydro Vac Truck Operator
Reports to: Underground Supervisor
Job Status: Full Time
Location: Toronto and Surrounding Areas
EXPERIENCE: Knowledge and ability to work while making safety the number one priority is a must!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will execute all work assigned safely
- Loading and unloading of goods; tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
- Must be able to plan travel schedule and routes, receive and relay information to supervisor
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
- Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
- Will perform work including exposing cables and conduits for all utilities via hydrovac system.
- Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
- Excavate, backfill and compact earth
- Possibly operate small power tools (e.g. compaction jumping jacks, cut saws, air compressors and generators)
- Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- AZ driver’s license

- May be able to climb a twenty and ten foot straight ladder and 28 foot extension ladder weighing 80 pounds
- Must be responsible to maintain a fit condition to bend, kneel and climb

- Must be able to safely lift loads of 65 lbs

General Labourer Underground Technician

- Will execute all work assigned safely
- Will perform work including dig and repair of faulty cables, installation of conduits and distribution cables, installation of pedestals and concrete bases, flushmount vaults and enclosures and restoration of ground after repairs and installations are complete
- Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
- Excavate, backfill and compact earth using shovels and rakes
- Install pipes by digging trenches using shovels and other tools
- Operate small power tools (e.g. compaction jumping jacks, cut saws, air compressors and generators)
- Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Being able to operate heavy equipment (Mini Backhoe, Trencher, Winch, Compressors etc.) is an asset

Commercial Installations Technician
Reports to: Inside Plant Commercial Division Manager

- Install and trouble shoot all models of Rogers Cable Digital Boxes.

- Install and troubleshoot Rogers cable Managed Routers.
- Install and trouble shoot Cat 3, 5, 5e, 6 RG6, RG11, and Flex 500 cables.

- Maintain an adequate inventory of materials, modems and digital boxes in the vehicle at all times.
- Be on standby as required and scheduled.
- Maintain your work vehicle in proper working condition.
- Keep within Rogers Cable Key Performance Indicators.
- Conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with our customers.

Structured Cabling Technician / Cable Puller
Reports to: Inside Plant Commercial Division Manager

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years, experience installing structured cable and performing terminations and punch down work
- Knowledge and ability to work while making safety the number one priority is a must!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, terminate and pull CAT 5 and CAT 6 cable
- Mount face plates on surface mount boxes correctly
- Build closets (mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fibre optic and hardware)
- Route cable through data centres, buildings and workstations
- Test, adjust and troubleshoot equipment
- Provide appropriate customer service when responding to a customer request or fulfilling project requirements
- Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
QUALIFICATIONS:

Aerial Lineman
Reports to: Aerial Supervisor
Job Status: Full Time
Location: Toronto and Surrounding Areas
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as an Aerial Lineman is preferred. Knowledge and ability to work while making safety the number one priority is a must!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact with Hydro and other Telecom Companies for the construction of Fiber Optic Systems
- Ensure all materials associated with the construction of aerial plant for each project are on the truck
- Provide a high level of productivity and support to the line foreman ensuring quality service
- Access specific areas to lash lines using lashers, auxiliary equipment, or appliances, using bucket trucks, or by climbing poles using spurs or ladders, or entering trenches, or confined spaces.
- Installation of aerial or underground fiber optic or coaxial cable using existing knowledge of all required pole hardware.
- Pull cable by hand from large reels mounted on trucks; pull lines through ducts by hand or with winches.
- Ensure all safety signs, cones, barriers, etc. are in good shape and on the truck
- Use time efficiently and effectively to promote good work habits at all times
- Check timesheets and documentation to ensure accuracy and detail
- Review monthly vehicle inspections conducted by AC Department Coordinator
- Always deal with all customers in a courteous, professional manner ensuring deadlines are met
- Be able to apply due diligence ensuring accuracy in preparing and promptly completing all necessary documentation (surveys, timesheets, drawings, as-builds, tailboards)
- Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
